Mother Nature Hits a Grand Slam
What a week, what a night! The third major storm in a week has had a major impact on our area. We personally were lucky: we were on the southern edge of the storm and only got 1 1/2 inches of rain and we live high on a ridge. Further north, they were not so lucky. Some areas got 11 inches of rain overnight. As you can imagine, this has caused a great many problems. As it now stands, you cannot leave Bloomington by routes north, east or west. Given a few hours, I think that the southern routes will be cut off.
Now you must understand: both central and southern Indiana is a land-locked area with a few lazily flowing rivers meandering through the countryside. And yet, here we are in deep doo-doo, or water, and even areas that haven't received any rain are experiencing flooding. Who knew? Who needs soap operas when we have mother nature?
