Is It Spicy Around Here, or Is It Just Me?
I made one of my family's favorite dinners, Shrimp Scampi with Fettucini, tonight. But alas, carbs are not on my diet, so I also sauteed some sea scallops for me. I had previously purchased the ingredients for a tropical salsa to accompany tonight's dinner. Unfortunately, mangos were no where to be found in my regular grocery store, so I opted instead for a pineapple salsa. As whole pineapples were also quite absent from the grocery store, I picked "freshly cut" pineapple in a cup, a serrano chile (thanks to Rosie Hawthorne for correctly identifying that particular critter for me), and a cucumber (my 19 year old daughter was so acting 12 years old over that). I already had kosher salt, red onion and a lime at home.
This was good. I am glad that I don't have to share this with my family. Yeah, it's that good.

How did you do your scallops?
Oh, if Kelley is acting 12 over a cucumber, please avert her eyes from Mr. Hawthorne's bread stick dough.
Marilyn, were those pineapples PRE-cut?
I seared the scallops in olive oil and I had seasoned the scallops with kosher salt and black pepper.
Why yes, Rosie. The pineapples were pre-cut and then I cut them INto even smaller pieces.
