The Foodie Girls Go out to Lunch

This is finals week for the Foodie Daughter, so we decided to treat ourselves to lunch. The daughter has been hungry for fried dill pickles, so she asked if we could go downtown to Scotty's Brewhouse (warning, the web site has auto-play for their 'commercial'. Just click on the pause button in the top right of the window). Scotty's Brewhouse is an Indiana chain that has locations near some of the state's universities. Sounds good to me.

This is the reason we came here. The Dill Chips come with horseradish sauce and or ranch dressing. We opted for both dips this time.

The waiter at Scotty's proudly announced that they have the largest menu in town. After picking up the heavy menu, I'd have to believe that.

After some deliberation, I decided on the Backyard Bar-b-q Burger with seasoned waffle fries.

The daughter also chose the Backyard Bar-b-q Burger with mozzarella cheese in place of the standard cheddar cheese and a side of cole slaw.

Both burgers were very good, but very messy. It is a good thing that the restaurant provides terry hand towels in place of the expected napkins.

While sitting there, we were treated to several large screen TVs showing various sports programs. We had a nice time and the daughter appreciated the study break. Man, what a lot of food, though!

Those plates with the bottles on the rim are fun!

We have a place here in town that has fried pickles on their menu. Unfortunately, I've never had them with a horseradish sauce as they only serve ranch dressing with their pickles.
