A Wind Farm in Northern Indiana

On our way to Chicago we passed through
White County, Indiana
and several acres of large wind turbines.

The turbines are just ahead.

This giant wind farm is operated

Research shows that these turbines are
part of the Meadow Lake Wind Farms,
Phases I, II, III and IV.

There are 303 wind turbines between
the four wind farms.

These turbines are capable of generating
500 megawatts.

That is enough energy to power 300,000 homes.

Depending on the whims of the winds,
the company can expect to recoup the costs of the
wind turbine in three to ten years.

It varies by manufacturer,
but each turbine has a life expectancy of 20 to 30 years.

There are wind turbines as far as the eye can see
on either side of the highway.

Impressive.

Clean energy.

Amazing to see.

When we took our trip out west last year, I was fascinated by the profusion of wind turbines. Hundreds and hundreds in a single field.
